Many wedding superstitions and traditions have debuted throughout the years! Couples choose to utilize them as a way to add a dash of personalization to their big day, or because they feel as though they must incorporate them into their nuptials.
However, there are some superstitions that can be ignored!
We believe that every couple should plan their wedding as they please! That’s why, here at The Estates at Pecan Park, as a Houston wedding venue, we have gathered some wedding superstitions that you can ignore. Would you like to discover what these superstitions are? If so, be sure to read on:
No Peeking Allowed. For decades, couples have chosen to not see one another before their wedding ceremony. This superstition came about back in the day, as grooms weren’t to see their brides, so that they wouldn’t have the opportunity to change their mind and run. Couples still choose to take part in this superstition as a way to build anticipation and excitement for the wedding ceremony. However, know that you can choose to ignore doing so if you please.
No Marrying on Saturday. Back in the day, Saturday was determined to be the most unlucky day of the week. Therefore, couples were not to wed on this day! However, in today’s world, Saturdays are the most popular day to tie the knot on, and couples have very lucky marriages! So, you could certainly ignore this superstition.
No Yellow Flowers. During the Victorian era, yellow flowers were said to symbolize jealously, and were believed to curse marriages. So, they were frowned upon to be used within weddings! Today, however, gorgeous yellow florals are being utilized throughout big days, and marriages are just fine!
Every couple should plan their nuptials as they please! These are just a few wedding superstitions that you could choose to ignore if you would like.
